Coaching is a structured conversation, providing space for reflection, understanding and challenge. It assumes you have the resources and answers to achieve what you need. A coach will partner with you to explore where you want to go and how to get there. They can help you see yourself clearly, and see new opportunities and approaches.

It’s not about analysing your past. Though a good coach will spot patterns of belief and assumptions that you may have carried for a long time and that may be holding you back.  They will challenge you to see those differently. And they will help you explore what you want to change, and what to do next. Without an action plan, it’s just a conversation.

Key is building rapport and really listening. A good coach holds up a mirror to help you see yourself, and provides challenge in a safe, constructive way to enable you to identify and take advantage of new options.

My background designing and delivering strategy means I love exploring the big picture (what does the next 20 years look like) and then working with you on the detail of how to make that happen (what do I do now, next week, next month to make that a reality).

Personal coaching

I work with private individuals to help you clarify your goals and purpose and manage and take advantage of change. If you are at a point of career transition, questioning where you are - or looking to get even more out of life, coaching can support you to get where you want.

Professional coaching

I work with a range of senior professionals to support their success. I have particular expertise working with individuals in professional services to develop your leadership and communication impact. I also have a track record working with technical experts transitioning into senior roles where you need to communicate your wider strategic value, helping you build presence and create impact at the top table.

Team coaching

I have years of experience building teams to deliver change and transformation, and to have fun doing it. I can help you as a team clarify your goals, navigate challenges, find your purpose and be at your best to deliver at your best.

How I work

I don’t have one set model or process for my coaching. I am interested in responding to the client and shaping the coaching process to your needs and style of working.

Chemistry is important. The first step is to arrange an initial complimentary conversation to explore what you are looking to achieve. It's always useful to talk to a few coaches to get a sense of different styles and approaches.

If you're interested in going ahead, we will undertake a formal set up process. I use a range of tools to explore and identify the areas you want to work on. As part of that we design an alliance for how we will work together.

In every case, you chose the extent to which you want to be held to account. If you don’t, I will ask you why – I will challenge, but I will respect your answer. I will be curious, open, non-judgemental. And I will listen.

As your coach I will help you formulate clear and achievable goals and help you work out what steps and resources you need to achieve those outcomes. I’m good at measuring and monitoring objectives. But if you need me to leave my completer-finisher at the door, I can do that.

I won’t tell you what to do, or how to do it. But I have a range of questions and tools that can complement the coach approach, and help you work through what you need to do if you do get stuck.

I love the opportunity to meet face-to-face but also coach by telephone or video call, to fit your work schedule, location and preference. I work with clients around the world this way.
