About me

I am a trained coach with 30 years' experience working in leadership roles across a range of organisations. In the course of my career, I have experienced businesses from many angles. I have worked in internal and external facing roles, and led teams from start-up through significant growth, and beyond. I bring that breadth of experience to my work as a coach.

Coaching skills have enabled me to work with specialist teams and individuals to create collaborative long-lasting change. As a leader I specialised in managing senior leaders who are experts in their field. I undertook coaching training initially to strengthen my leadership at work, heading a team of skilled professionals in their own fields. I couldn’t be better than them at their own jobs. But I could add value by coaching them to work together, to exploit their individual strengths and to best use their expertise to support the organisation's broader strategy.

As an individual, I believe in coaching because it’s worked for me. In the course of a 30+ year career, and several board-level roles, I’ve had moments of doubt, imposter syndrome and just straight downright panic. What’s helped me at those moments? A powerful coach as a partner. Someone compassionate but objective who has enabled me to see options and possibilities, and recognise and build on my own strengths to create success (and, occasionally, just to survive until Friday).  The coaches who have made the difference for me haven’t just coached me on a work challenge, they have coached and challenged the whole me.

Sometimes life gets in the way of work. My very first coach, who was partnering my transition to a board-level role, helped me work through some major shifts in my personal life. That gave me the space to ensure I could be successful at work.

Sometimes work gets in the way of life. Some 20 years later a wonderful coach helped me see new potential paths and explore a change in career to reinstate my work/life balance.

These experiences have been the foundation for my approach to coaching and my passion for sharing its power to transform.

My professional background

My experience includes more than 20 years in board and senior leadership roles. I have built businesses and teams, delivered transformations and turn arounds and worked across areas as varied as regulation, risk consultancy, law and finance services for the LGBT+ sector.

As well as building strategies, creating services and growing profitable businesses, I have significant expertise in making companies work behind the scenes. This includes a range of COO and operational leadership roles running corporate functions ranging from HR to IT, Finance, Facilities, Governance and Marketing across UK and international businesses.
